The NaturCulture for Liveable Ridge Landscapes project
The NaturCulture for Liveable Ridge Landscapes project aims to inform the public about the efforts to maintain biodiversity in the Erzgebirge/Vogtland Nature Park through outreach activities. The outreach project focuses on practical measures such as the care of mountain meadows and hedges, the rewilding of watercourses and moors, and the planting, cultivation, and care of orchard meadows with heritage fruit varieties. Over the course of many centuries, human mining activities changed the landscape of our nature park. Adits, heaps, sinkholes, quarries, reservoirs and ditches were created, and nature adapted to the new conditions as they arose.
